Feelings right now …

RAGING EXCITEMENT at the idea of being 23 …

… NOSTALGIC for the days of my childhood …

… DISAPPOINTED I’m have 0 work ethic after 23 years of living …

… and just READY for graduated life to hit me full-on in the face

… and just really GRATEFUL to be where I am in my life, in a pretty great state of mind, surrounded by people I trust and love. I’m also really grateful for the fact that I’m not dead in a ditch somewhere. Because we should always be grateful we’re not dead, y’know?

Man: Alright, I've had enough. Why haven't you guys hired me?!
Employee: Uh...well sir, when did you put in your application?
Man: I never filled out an application.
Employee: Well sir, we can't consider you for employment if you've never filled out an application.
Man: No, that's bullshit, because I've been coming here for years now, and every single time I tell you all how much I love this store and how much I appreciate your customer service, unlike some of your other customers might I add!
Employee: Well, but that doesn't-
Man: AND I even told you that I didn't have a job!
Employee: But sir, that doesn't indicate to us that you would like a job at our store. And again, if you've never filled out an application, we can't consider you. Besides, we're not hiring.
Man: OH! Not hiring, HA! What a laugh. I see your store go through seasonal workers all the time. They come and go like nothing, but you won't consider me as a part-time employee even though I KNOW you've been looking for workers to fill positions? That's insane!
Employee: Sir, we've been looking to hire a few people for management positions. Do you have any management experience?
Man: Well no, but what does that matter?
Employee: ...Well sir, that's what we're looking for. You won't be suitable for the position without management experience.
Man: Oh that's such a load of crap. You know, you'll be waiting around a long time for a manager if you don't lower your standards a little. Who cares if someone knows how to manage a store? I LOVE this store and I'm willing to work here, that's all that should matter to you.
Employee: That...doesn't make any sense.
Man: NO! I'm done. This is over. From now on, no more Mr. Nice Guy.

BlackBerry has just announced that its BBM messenger platform is going multi-platform: it will be released for Android and iOS as a free app this summer. BBM will support iOS hardware running iOS 6 and above; the Android version will be compatible with version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above.

My dilemma: my MBP charger crapped out on me after a good 2.5 years. Since I’m in Europe for 2 months in June, and the warranty on the accessories are only 12 months, I thought, why get the charger now and not be able to take advantage of 2 months of my warranty? I’ll use my PC for the next 23 days, & I’ll be fine.

I couldn’t live without my MacBook Pro for two and a half days.

I sucked it up, and paid $85 for a new charger. I’m not some Apple fanboy, but I realized that the amount of time I am on the road, it was not worth a) the loss of productivity without my laptop and b) the mind-numbing slowness of my desktop, which I hadn’t turned on in three years.

I thought I could live without technology, seeing as that I had stayed away from data. A friend told me I was crazy for not getting data and said that as technology change, we imbue ourselves in a new era, and we have to adapt. I contested that as humans, we can’t adapt to technology, we make technology adapt to us, otherwise we start living dependently on our own creations. And isn’t a part of humanity our independence, our ability to reason and adapt to our own individual concepts and environments without it influencing us?

Then of course, that all came crumbling down when I couldn’t live without my MBP for two days. Boo.
